New Geo

Geometrics are fun, colourful and blocky this season, taking their cues more from mid-century design or exuberant post-modernism than the calm order of arabic motifs. Head to Chaplins to see Spanish designer Cristian Zuzunaga’s latest creation, the ‘Dreams’ cabinet (above, top): adorned with Zuzunaga’s signature pixel motif, it’s an eye-catching piece that makes a strong statement. Harlequin’s Scion brand is launching Lohko, named after the Finnish word for ‘blocks’: the fabrics, voiles and wallpapers feature asymmetric motifs, bold colour and cut-out geometrics; pictured (above, centre) is ‘Modul’ wallpaper, ‘Spirit Weaves Chenoa’ fabric (on chair), and ‘Vector’, ‘Plains Five’ and ‘Modul’ fabric (on cushions). Romo’s new decorative velvets add some texture to the mix of colour and pattern: pictured bottom are cushions in ‘Feria’, ‘Pepino’ and ‘Santo’.
